Report suspicious emails -
The best practice is to report the email directly to the institution or organization in question. For example: if you get an email from your bank that you feel is suspicious, report that email directly to your banks fraud department. The same is true for most major Internet properties, banks and other financial institutions, even business or consumer service organizations, including the Better Business Bureau, have been used in these scams.

Ebay, PayPal and other top Internet companies along with most banking institutions have internal departments that deal with spoofing and email fraud. Reporting directly to these organizations is a good first step.
